Designed for researchers who have an unexpected gap in their NIH research funding portfolio. It is open to full-time COM-Gainesville faculty members who have submitted an application to the NIH and received a score within 20 percentile points of the Institute’s funded percentile.
Thomas H. Maren Junior Investigators Endowed Research Fund supports outstanding faculty in the College of Medicine pursuing high-risk, high-reward research projects. The fund also provides supplemental funding for promising post-doctoral fellows research projects in the College of Medicine as a transition to scientific independence.
For program announcements that limit a number of applications per institution, Research Affairs and Scientific Review Committee will facilitate internal selection process of proposals from College of Medicine.
The Research Opportunity Seed Fund is an annual seed grant program that targets interdisciplinary, faculty-initiated research projects with potential for extramural support. The program focuses on new projects and/or new collaborative partnerships.
