The COM Office of Research Affairs (ORA) will coordinate an internal review for National Institutes of Health R-, K-, P- or U-series grant applications (new, renewal, and resubmission). Reviewers will be COM faculty with experience as NIH reviewers.
New and Competing Applications
- Impact Analysis – COM PIs may submit NIH-formatted specific aims, significance and innovation sections for impact analysis. The PI will receive feedback (strengths/weaknesses) on these sections within a few days.
- Full Review – The PI may submit the complete proposal for full review. Full applications submitted at least one month prior to the submission deadline will receive a written review within two weeks.
Resubmissions
- For COM faculty who are preparing an A1, we recommend to contact us as soon as possible, subsequent to receiving summary statements. We will assist in pairing a reviewer to work with the PI to interpret the reviews and design a detailed plan for strengthening the application.
